From the inside looking out

Sitting on the couch watching the snow fall over Court St I began to think how beautiful snow looks from inside.  I love that it's snowing right now - but if I was walking to the Metro station or 7 blocks to Trader Joe's I wouldn't be thinking about how lovely the snow that's blowing in my face is.
Think about it. Friendship, love, being financially stable is most enjoyed from the inside looking out.
This past week has been the most challenging week I have had in NYC... yet. I did it - when talking to my Mom on the phone last Monday my first set of NYC tears fell. Nothing to be proud, ashamed, or never to see again.
My move here has had many ups and downs.  4 interviews with no replys, the Pig and Whistle who invited me to train as a waitress for 2 days and then called to tell me they had hired someone else, and standing inline at fashion week only to have open seating fill before I made it in the door. Believe it or not I'm in good spirits. Definitely making progress.
Four more interviews than I had in Minneapolis, a new found appreciation for servers in NYC, and since I don't have TV in my room - I did get to watch the show from the screen inside the Bryant Park tent! Still part of me can't help but long for the day when I can look back and think, wow, look how far I've come!
Someday - sitting inside staring out my window as a accomplished creative conversing with mother (who introduced me to fashion) about our favorite looks that just walked down the runway at Marc Jacobs.
As for now I'm an outsider... pushing to get in!

(Pig and Whistle, 3rd Ave., New York, NY) - please don't tell me if you go... yes, I'm bitter
